Pass Plus
Course
What is Pass Plus?
pass plus is a short DSA approved training course taken
after passing your L-Test. You'll learn how to deal with
challenges that may not have encountered pre-Test, so
helping you become a safer, more knowledgeable driver.
Why is it needed?
It's a fact that newly qualified, especially younger,
drivers are far more likely to be involved in a Road
Traffic Accident than those with more experience. A quarter
of those killed on the roads are under 21 years old . 95%
of RTA's are caused by human error, and the new driver's
comparative lack of expertise often leads to these errors.
Who is it for?
Anyone with a Full Licence can take Pass Plus, but it's
primarily intended for those in their first year of
driving.
What does it involve?
Six hours training, split into two, three or four sessions.
You'll gain knowledge and experience of busier town
driving, country roads, driving in bed weather and at
night, driving on dual carriageways and on motorways. In
other words, essential, practical driving skills. Is it
just a few 'extra lessons? Taking Pass Plus isn't like
learning to drive all over again. By the time you're
eligible to do it, you'll have your Full Licence. You need
to demonstrate during the course that you'll drive
responsibly, but there is no test of any sort at the end of
it!
What are the benefits?
A broader range of skills, greater confidence, and reduced
accident risk. Because of this, all the major insurance
companies will offer you a substantial discount off the
cost of a Motor Policy. This is usually 30% (with knock-on
benefits the following year/s). If you're asked to pay
around £1000 per annum, that's £300 off! One of our former
pupils saved £700 on her first year's policy alone!
