Training
Can’t wait to get started in the driver seat? With
Driving Academy Uk you can have your first experience
whilst learning to drive a 5 gear-Peugeot 206, and because
the training is carried out on private land you won’t
even need a license!
The only requirements we need you to meet are a minimum age
of 10 years with a minimum height of 4ft 10 inches.
We only use professional Driving Instructors with vast
experience of teaching to DSA standards, however as this
intensive course is aimed solely at car control skills, you
will not be taught any Highway Code information.
You should allow 3 hours for the driving event which will
include 2 hours actual driving in the vehicle.
With a ratio of 3 pupils per instructor , learning will
take place more quickly, there will one briefing followed
by each pupil having a turn at carrying out each particular
manoeuvre. This is designed to minimise explanation time
and maximise learning time, by rotating and watching each
other, pupils will be able to coach and encourage each
other.
At the end of the event you should be able to have a good
understanding of the following:
• How to move away smoothly and under full control
• How to stop the car safely
• Carry out smooth gear changes (hopefully up to at
least 3rd gear)
• Understand how to effect good clutch control
• Carry out a 3 or 5 point turn
• Knowledge of basic car controls
• Explanation of items under the bonnet
Subject to each person’s capabilities , you should be
able to leave the course with a basic knowledge of how to
drive a car, this will give you a good introduction to
driving and could ultimately save you time and money when
you eventually take to the roads for actual driving
lessons! After all there is nothing to stop you reading up
on the Theory and gaining experience before you are 17 so
you can be that much safer.
