are aware of the importance of refresher training courses,
as nearly every driver on the road could have developed bad
habits without noticing.
The refresher course aim is to completely reassess your
ability and behaviour behind the wheel and offer a detailed
report on areas you should consider for improvement.
Do not worry - we are not there to take your license away,
but instead offer practical, useful advice on improving
your standard of driving.
Whilst we tailor refresher days to your exact needs, below
are details of a typical day ;
Greeting and
Introduction
A brief introduction to the centre and staff, and a layout
of the half day ahead.
Introduction to the Vehicle
and explanation
To ensure your complete comfort and safety, we check your
vehicle to ensure road worthiness. We also check that you
are positioned comfortably and are in easy reach of all
controls.
Assessment Drive
We take you on a variety of road surfaces, at varied speeds
and environments. This allows your trainer to assess your
ability as an overall, rather than just under one
condition.
Debrief
After your extensive drive we offer practical feedback on
how to improve your skills. We show you in which areas you
should pay particular attention, and offer solutions to
these areas.
Demo Drive
Rather than take you on a drive with little words, we
actively discuss how we are driving, and why. Our client's
show dramatic improvements after not only being shown what
to do correctly, but knowing why.
Summary and final
debrief
At the end of your half day course, we will provide you
with a written report which you will be asked to confirm
with us. When you have done so, we issue you with a
Certificate Of Achievement.
Refresher courses can also help towards obtaining
recognised NVQ or BTEC qualifications.
